World Economic Predictions for 2009 on the implications of oil and gold price manipulation, World currency, The Amero,The Wall Street Bailout, Gold spot price vs Real world price, who owns most of …
I’m a gold and silver bug BUT these guys are slightly missing the point. Of course physical gold is higher than paper gold!. Someone needs to make that gold you want to own. They need to make a proffit on it. They need to store it. They need to pay their bills and also not sell themselves small. Paper gold can be bought and sold in an instant. I’m not saying it’s not manipulated but let’s be real about it. The main reason it’s underpriced is because it’s over leveraged. Simple, no?.

a reintroduction to the gold standard? the problem is dividend lending caused by the banks. Going back to the gold standard would only help the central banks, and not anyone else.

do you really reckon a return to the gold standard is what we need? gold is just as arbitrary as paper. the last thing we need is another resource to wage wars over.

Excellent point, not sure the gold standard is “The” answer, but it would sure help us along the way to something much better than the failing system we have now.New thoughts to which you are leading to are fascinating.

That is really ignorant. Gold has been money for as long as money has existed. It’s rare, it’s fungible, it’s hard to fake, it’s nearly impossible to ruin, and central banks can’t inflate a bubble by printing more of it. Paper money on the other hand is nothing more than a promise that a certain denomination is worth something.

You don’t need to list the facts, I know all about gold. What I’m saying is that going back to gold would be like going back in time. Perhaps now humanity is reaching a level of maturity where we don’t need banks/governments centrally controlling the human economy through issuing of currency. I don’t know what’s in store in the future but obviously our current system is failing miserably. The endgame is that banks/governments/corporations are going bankrupt. So let’s get creative.
