My daughter really loved this book she is 11yrs ancient, the best bit was when the girls were getting the ponies ready for the huge day. She now wants to collect all Katies pony books!!! its an simple read for young children.

In a world where excellent small pony books for girls abound (Pony Camp Diaries, Pony Mad Princesses), these terribly written books don’t deserve to succeed. Though Katie Price Company’s huge marketing budget will no doubt have these books on show at the forefront of most bookshops, please avoid them. As a previous reviewer has mentioned, I was dismayed to find the word ‘cow’ used to describe people, and more importantly, so was my 8 year ancient daughter, who, it is worth mentioning, doesn’t want any more books in this series.

And is it REALLY necessary to have Katie Price’s face on the front cover? I notice she is cashing in on younger children now with her Pirates and Mermaids series. A more cynical money-making ploy I have yet to see.

There are so many fantastic children’s books available at the moment, so buy one of them and leave this one alone.

It’s not as terrible as you might reckon, but pointless when there are so many really decent alternatives.

My daughter who is just 6 is absolutely pony mad and has loved this series of books. The tales are fine for pony mad children and are pitched about right for her age group. The only thing that I really dislike is some of the language used – calling people ‘a cow’ is a common feature of all the books and isn’t necessary for that age group. My daughter doesn’t use this language now and I wouldn’t want to encourage her calling people the same thing…I change the word when I read it aloud to her (perhaps I’m just too picky!). Don’t let the Jordan association place you off…the books are harmless and do the job if your kids like horses. Not as excellent as the Pony Mad Princess Books but worth a read.
