I bought the Netgear VPN Client and FVS318 v3 to enable VPN access to our network. But, after a couple of weeks messing about and calls to technical support we STILL haven’t been able to get the Netgear VPN Client to connect to the Netgear router.
Netgear have even tested this in house and could not get it to work either.
In addition, the version supplied (not amazon) was ancient (v10.1) and I had to get support to send me the latest version (10.8.3) because there is no way to upgrade it. To install the latest version I had to uninstall the supplied version, which involved running some utilities that support sent me, deleting some registry keys, deleting some windows driver config files and uninstalling. Even then, the latest version did not install without errors.
All-in-all this, and the FVS318 have been a complete waste of money and have also consumed about 5 days of my time.
My advice…steer well clear of Netgear!

I’m annoyed that Netgear don’t state that it’s known not to work with vista. I now have a load of return hassles to deal with.
